Fetal heart failure.

چکیده
Clinical fetal heart failure occurs in conditions associated with increasing left and right atrial filling and/or central venous pressures and manifests as right heart failure with the development of pericardial and pleural effusions, ascites and peripheral and placental edema. Fetal heart failure may occur in primary myocardial disease, in presence of the extracardiac pathology impacting the loading conditions of the fetal heart and in conditions associated with secondary myocardial dysfunction including structural heart defects, bradycardia or tachycardia. This review summarizes recent literature of the understanding of the normal fetal circulation and the pathogenic mechanisms responsible for the evolution of fetal heart failure, strategies for fetal and perinatal management of fetal heart failure, and future directions that may lead to novel strategies to treat affected pregnancies and.

Investigation Giant Placental Chorioangioma Associated with Neonatal Sepsis-like Disease: A Case Report
Giant chorioangioma is a placental tumor associated with gestational complications such as preeclampsia, polyhydramnios and hemorrhage. In addition, this tumor might lead to the incidence of non-immune fetal hydrops, heart failure, anemia, thrombocytopenia, weight loss and death among neonates. In this case report, the clinical image of a term newborn (weighing 2800 g) with one-minute Apgar sco...
متن کاملHarnessing fetal and adult genetic reprograming for therapy of heart disease.
Heart is the first organ formed during organogenesis. The fetal heart undergoes several structural and functional modifications to form the four-chambered mammalian heart. The adult heart shows different adaptations during compensatory and decompensatory heart failure. However, one common adaptation in the pathological heart is fetal reprogramming, where the adult heart expresses several genes ...
متن کاملUnderstanding cardiotocographic patterns associated with intrapartum fetal hypoxia and neurologic injury.
Widespread use of fetal heart rate monitoring for intrapartum fetal surveillance preceded our detailed understanding of the behaviour and regulation of the fetal cardiovascular system during labour. The fetal heart rate is sensitive to fetal hypoxaemia and hypoxia, but lacks specificity for fetal acidosis, the end point of unmitigated hypoxaemia and hypoxia. Original interpretations of fetal he...

MAR\~N L. MEITUS, M.D., P.C.C.P. Miami Beach, Florida THE FIRST FETAL ELECTROCARDIOGRAM in utero was obtained by Cremer,' in 1906. Of the clinical applications of fetal electrocardiography described in the literature, the following are included: 1. Confirmation of fetal life in utero. 2. Detection of early (first-trimester) pre.pancy. 3. Proof of multiple pregnancy. 4. Dia~pmis of fetal positio...
متن کاملFetal tachycardia associated with maternal use of pseudoephedrine, an over-the-counter oral decongestant.
We present a case of fetal tachycardia associated with maternal use of long-acting pseudoephedrine, an over-the-counter decongestant. No previous studies exist on pseudoephedrine or other over-the-counter decongestants and their effect on the fetal heart. The elevated fetal heart rate led to difficulty in interpreting a nonstress test. The normal human fetal heart rate at term is 110 to 160 bea...
